Refund Policy

1. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee (grandfathered subscriptions)

Meridian no longer sells monthly subscriptions; this section continues to govern subscriptions started before 08.28.2026.

If you are not satisfied with Meridian for any reason within the first 7 days of your first paid invoice, you can request a full refund of your monthly subscription fee. No questions asked. No exit survey. No reason required.

How it works:

• The 7 days starts on the date of your first paid invoice (not the day you signed up for the trial).
• The one-time setup fee (waived on a 12-month commitment; otherwise $997–$1,497 depending on plan) is separately refundable within its own 14-day window — see below.
• If your plan included a promotional trial before your first paid invoice, that trial is additional evaluation time on top of these 7 days — see Section 2, Trial Period.
• Email info@meridianseo.ai with the subject "Money-back guarantee" — or use the one-click "Cancel and refund" button in your dashboard.
• We process the full refund within 5 business days back to your original payment method.
• Your generated websites stay live for 7 days after refund in case you change your mind; after that, they're permanently deleted.

The 7-day guarantee applies to your FIRST paid month only. After 7 days, the prorated cancellation policy below applies to the monthly fee. The setup fee is separately refundable within 14 days of being charged; after that window it becomes non-refundable, having covered work already performed.

2. Trial Period (grandfathered subscriptions)

Where a promotional trial was offered, the code TEST DRIVE at sign-up activated a 14-day trial at no charge. You are not charged during the trial and may cancel at any time before it ends with no charge.

We send a reminder email three days before your trial converts to a paid subscription. If you do nothing, your card is charged for the plan you selected on day fifteen.

Self-serve trial sign-up is temporarily paused while we improve the site-generation experience — new subscriptions are currently arranged directly with our team rather than through an automated trial; email info@meridianseo.ai or use the contact form. This section governs any account still on an active trial today; Meridian no longer offers self-serve subscription sign-up.

3. Monthly Subscriptions — Mid-Cycle Cancellation

You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time from your dashboard or by emailing info@meridianseo.ai. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period by default, and you retain access to the Service through that date.

Prorated refund option. If you prefer to cancel immediately, we will refund the unused portion of your current billing period, prorated to the day. Example: you paid $97 on the 1st, you cancel on the 11th — we refund 20/30 of $97, approximately $64.67.

This is a feature we genuinely offer, not a fight. Refunds are processed within five business days to your original payment method.

4. Annual Subscriptions

Annual billing was offered on the now-retired Premium Founding plan only, at a ten percent (10%) discount versus paying monthly; existing annual subscribers keep these terms. If you cancel an annual subscription:

• Within the first thirty days: full refund, no questions asked
• Days 31-90: prorated refund minus a $20 administrative fee
• After day 90: no refund; access continues until the annual term ends

5. Written Service Agreements Control Where They Differ

Clients on a signed written services agreement — the Done-For-You project, the 90-Day Evaluation, the Website & AI-Visibility Audit and SEO/AIO/GEO Audit, or a legacy Custom Build, Growth, Authority, or Portfolio contract — follow the refund and payment terms stated in that agreement wherever they differ from this general policy; the signed agreement controls. For example, the Done-For-You project fee is paid on the schedule stated in the accepted proposal, with a meaningful portion withheld until launch approval and each installment non-refundable once work on it begins; the 90-Day Evaluation bills monthly inside a fixed 90-day term and never auto-renews. If you signed a written agreement and are unsure which terms apply, email info@meridianseo.ai and reference your agreement.

6. What Is Not Refundable

• Third-party charges incurred on your BYOK API keys. When you use Bring-Your-Own-Key features (blog generation, voice-to-site iteration, conversion forensics), those API calls run on your account with the third-party provider (e.g., OpenAI). We never see or refund those charges — they are between you and your provider
• Custom domain registration fees if you registered the domain through a third party or through our optional registrar integration
• One-time professional service fees (e.g., custom integrations, API setup assistance, or production add-ons) once delivery has begun
• Charges incurred before a fraud or chargeback is opened in bad faith. If a chargeback is reversed in our favor, the original charge stands

7. Failed Payments

If a recurring payment fails:

1. We retry up to three times over seven days and email you each time
2. On the eighth day, your generated websites may be unpublished (returned to a 404 state) automatically
3. Your project data is preserved for thirty days from the failed payment date
4. Update your payment method within those thirty days to restore service and republish your sites; no fee applies
5. After thirty days of non-payment, project data may be deleted permanently

8. Service Disruption Credits

If our Service is unavailable beyond our published uptime commitments (99.9% monthly for the dashboard; 99.95% for hosted sites), you may request a credit:

• Up to 4 hours of qualifying downtime in a month: 10% credit toward next month
• 4-12 hours: 25% credit
• Over 12 hours: 50% credit

Credits are issued automatically where possible and on request otherwise. Credits do not apply to scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (Railway, Cloudflare, Stripe, PayPal), or downtime caused by your own DNS or upstream connectivity.

9. Refunds for Content Moderation Actions

If your account is suspended or terminated because your use of the Service violated our prohibited uses (cannabis, alcohol retail, sex shops, firearms, etc.), no refund is issued. If termination was in error, contact us within thirty days and we will reinstate your account and process a refund where appropriate.

10. Chargebacks and Disputes

Please email us at info@meridianseo.ai before filing a chargeback. We typically resolve billing issues within one business day. Filing a chargeback before contacting us may result in your account being suspended until the dispute is resolved.

11. How to Request a Refund

You don't need to fill out a form or wait on hold. Two options:

1. From your dashboard: Settings → Billing → Cancel and refund — one click, the system handles it
2. Email info@meridianseo.ai with the subject line "Refund request" and your account email

Refunds are typically processed within five business days. The time it takes to appear in your account depends on your payment method and bank.

12. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you have under consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction. If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with statutory withdrawal rights for distance contracts, those rights apply and may exceed what this policy offers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes apply prospectively to new subscription periods and trials beginning after the effective date. Existing refund entitlements you have already accrued are not reduced by changes.
